How To Choose An SEO Company

Is SEO right for your business?

Many people don’t realize that not all websites are created with Search Engine Optimization in mind. Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ) is when a website is designed around known search engine algorithm variables. New website owners need to decide prior to having a website built if SEO is important before the design process can begin. Designing a website to be search engine optimized will make a considerable difference in actual design of the website. Because ranking high in search engines is not a high priority for every website, new website owners need to weigh the pros and cons involved with having a search engine optimized website. .
Designing a website around Search Engine Optimization will limit website can look like. Many website designs companies offer beautiful websites with lots of animation and pictures but generally speaking those websites tend to NOT be very search engine friendly. If a website is properly planned and constructed, it can still be attractive to the eye and have the added benefit of ranking high on search engines. Since search engine optimization has very specific requirements, the website may not look exactly how a new website owner might have envisioned it. For instance, if a bicycle company wishes to have a picture at the top of their home page with no text, that would not be search engine friendly. If SEO was performed properly the website would have important keywords located at the top of their home page and not an image.
An important factor in deciding if your new website should be search engine optimized is budget. Having a search engine optimized website tends to be more costly than just designing a website without taking seo into consideration. Most established web development companies that specialize in search engine optimization like WebDuck Designs offer various payment options to help ease the burden of a website that might initially seem out of your planned budget. If you choose to have a non-seo website constructed today and are looking to include SEO down the road it is difficult to implement all SEO tactics since Search Engine Optimization is incorporated in the actual website design. If you have the most beautiful website in the world and nobody can find it then what good is it?

Tips to Reduce Stress

People can learn to manage stress and lead happier, healthier lives. Here are some tips to help you keep stress at bay:
  • Keep a positive attitude.
  • Accept that there are events that you cannot control.
  • Be assertive instead of aggressive. Assert your feelings, opinions, or beliefs instead of becoming angry, defensive, or passive.
  • Learn and practice relaxation techniques; try meditation, yoga, or tai-chi.
  • Exercise regularly. Your body can fight stress better when it is fit.
  • Eat healthy, well-balanced meals.
  • Learn to manage your time more effectively.
  • Set limits appropriately and say no to requests that would create excessive stress in your life.

Stay Positive Everyday

Keep a Journal of Gratitude
I found this exercise in an old book on Zen living; it’s one of my favorites to this day. Just take a little notebook and start writing down the things you’re grateful for. Start with the obvious and work from there.
Be grateful for having food, water and a roof above your head. If you woke up at 5 A.M. and can’t go back to sleep, be grateful for getting to see the sunrise. If you’re facing a challenge, be grateful for the opportunity to learn from it.
You don’t have to write every day, but make sure you open your journal at least once a week. It can be very easy to indulge in self-pity, blame and anger; appreciating what you have will help you stay positive.
Things Get Better
When you’re struggling, grieving or suffering from heartache, the pain can feel unbearable. Even in everyday life, the weight of a million little things can be heavy.
But always remember the proverb: “This too shall pass.” Your negative feelings won’t last forever; there’s a light at the end of every tunnel. It might not happen today or tomorrow, but you’ll feel better eventually.
When you understand and accept the volatile nature of life, it’s a lot easier to stay calm and relaxed – even in the hardest of times.
Mental List of Awesomeness
Having high self-esteem keeps anxiety at bay, improves personal relationships and encourages optimism. If you don’t appreciate yourself enough – or are feeling down – try making a mental list of awesome stuff you’ve done recently.
“Went for a jog instead of watching TV”; “cooked for my girlfriend”; “made an awesome presentation at work.” Make a written list if you want, and don’t be modest!
You’ll find that, as you go over your awesome actions and choices, you start to feel great about yourself. It’s hard not to when you remind yourself how amazing you are!
What’s The Worst That Could Happen?
Paolo Coelho was right when he wrote: the fear of suffering is worse than suffering itself. It’s easy to become worried over the little things: the human mind can blow things way, way out of proportion. To stop that from happening, always ask yourself: what’s the worst that could happen?
Chances are, “the worst” isn’t that bad. You’ll be fine if you don’t ace tomorrow’s presentation. You can retake tomorrow’s exam in September. That cute girl (or boy) won’t eat you if you screw up this date.
Sure, it would be better if things went according to plan, but sometimes they don’t. When you’re no longer afraid of any outcome, you can focus on having fun and getting things done. Don’t wind yourself up for no reason!
Reach Out and Help Someone
We live in a culture that encourages egotism. Even our buzzwords – self-help, self-promotion, self-esteem – reflect our obsession with ourselves. But if you want to feel great about yourself, try giving to someone else.
Donating a few dollars to charity can change someone’s life. Calling your mom for a few minutes will make her week. Buying food for a sick friend will help more than you can imagine.
It takes very little to help someone out. When you make a big difference with just a few minutes – or dollars – you’ll always remember how important and amazing you are. And with an attitude like that, it’s hard to be anything but positive.

SEO POST PANDA

SEO POST PANDA
The fact is that there is just too much fluff out there when it comes to SEO. Half of it doesn’t work and the other half is taught by people that don’t practice what they teach – so how can you really trust them? Most marketers selling the systems and the instant rankings success formulas, etc… are doing you more harm than good. Why?
First of all because they are marketers first and not SEO practitioners (meaning half or more of them really don’t even understand SEO). Secondly because you’ll waste countless hours and hundreds of dollars (if not thousands – ask us how we know – YIKES) chasing the latest tactic instead of learning effective long term strategies. Tactics work today and leave you crying when the next algorithm hits. Strategies will help you build a long-term viable business. Which do you want?

Achieve a Work Life Balance

Here are nine strategies that, taken together, can help to change course without abandoning the destination and help you restore your work life balance:
1. Don't panic.
Even if you feel panicky, you can choose modest, recoverable steps to address the situation. This is no time to get a divorce, fire an employee, or buy a new computer system. Tip: Talk with a coach or therapist to get perspective.
2. Return to Source.
Whatever your spiritual orientation or tradition, connect with what for you is the Source of life or spirit. Know that there is something larger than you that encompasses you. Spend at least 15 minutes each day connecting with that Source
3. Take a body inventory.
Are you sleeping well? How are you eating? What's your energy level? If these are not up to par, get a professional evaluation and take the steps that will restore your well being.
4. Tell the truth.
Sometimes energy flags when we've gotten into a pattern of pleasing others or living according to standards that are not our own. Notice if there is any imbalance. Notice where you're being less than forthright and get clear about your motives, then clean it up. (Talking to a coach or therapist can facilitate clear, authentic communication.)
5. Keep good company.
Are you stimulated and encouraged by your peers and clients? Do you have great playmates? Playing on the wrong playground with the wrong kids is neither fun nor productive.

Are you a Value?

  1. create a positive buzz about you and your work?
  2. make others want you as a part of their team?
  3. make your employer cringe at the thought of losing you to a competitor?
  4. make your customers excited about referring you to their colleagues?
You want your actions to scream value without the need for you to say a word. This is where you want to be – with those in your company and industry – and with those to whom you’re selling.
This is what creates true economic and job security – the value you and your team create for others.
This is care (what it’s all about).
When you have the opportunity over the next few days, set a reminder to review these four questions at the end of each month. Then, give yourself a little attention by reviewing them and creating an action plan to improve in each area where you feel you should.
Easier said than done… still needs to be done.

The Fundamentals of Sales Value

Many issues contribute to your professional value. The fundamentals for salespeople begin with the following:
Externally (among your prospects & customers)
  1. How well you and your product/ service help them meet their perceived need
  2. The level to which your customers & prospects enjoy working with you
Internally (within your company)
  1. Meeting & exceeding sales goals (dollars & units)
  2. Meeting & exceeding activity goals
  3. Your intangible contribution to your team (attitude-based: do others find you helpful, inspiring, a pleasure to work with, etc.)
  4. Your level of expertise on your own product/ service and industry

Don't get distracted!

4 ways to knock out the bulk of distractions

  1. Establish focus hours with your team (or company-wide) – chunks of time each day where everyone will allow everyone else to focus (that includes you). No inter-office communications unless it truly can’t wait. At JustSell, ours are from 9 am – 11 am and 2 pm – 4 pm (4 total hours a day). You’ll make mistakes occasionally and break focus hours but with commitment and reinforcement, everyone will benefit. If you’re really SalesTough (see below if you don’t know what this is) in order to minimize outside distractions, let your family and friends know your focus hours (and turn off your cell).
  2. Turn off email alerts and commit to checking it at the most minimal level you feel is possible for your particular sales world without having a negative impact on service. If you’re SalesTough, most of your inbound emails are probably important but still don’t need attention for at least an hour (if not longer). Be truthful with yourself and set your interval so everyone wins. If you can set only two or three specific times a day to respond to email, do it. (See below for what we learned by checking it only 3 times a day.) Consider having an auto-responder that let’s people know when you address your email (e.g., "Thanks for your note. I usually check my email three times daily (8:30 am, 11:30 am, 4:30 pm). If you need me immediately, please call my cell/ assistant/ office line.)."
  3. Turn off instant messaging services unless your work absolutely requires it to get the job done. Having to phone someone or talk with them live (by visiting them) will make you more aware and respectful of someone else’s time (and yours).
  4. Avoid the web during money hours unless you absolutely need it for your work. The distractions are endlessly wonderful for those who’d prefer to avoid making good things happen (which of course, isn’t your goal). If you must open a browser during the money hours (or focus hours), make sure your home page is something that doesn’t have the potential to encourage you down destruction distraction road (e.g., news or email sites, personalized pages, etc.). Search and discover outside your money hours or at lunch.

How do ideas comes to life?

Tips for Success

1. Have passion for your business Work should be fun. Your passion will help you overcome difficult moments and persuade people to work for you and want to do business with you. Passion can't be taught. When it wanes, as it surely will in difficult times, take some quiet time. Whether it be an hour or a week, take inventory of all the reasons you started the business and why you like being your own boss. That should renew your passion.
2. Set an example of trustworthiness People have confidence in trustworthy individuals and want to work for them in a culture of integrity. The same is true for customers.
3. Be flexible, except with core values It's a given that your plans and strategies will change as time goes on. This flexibility for rapid change is an inherent advantage of small over large business. However, no matter the pressure for immediate profits, do not compromise on core values.
4. Don't let fear of failure hold you back Failure is an opportunity to learn. All things being equal, venture capitalists would rather invest money in an individual who tried and failed founding a company than in someone who never tried.
5. Make timely decisions
It's okay to use your intuition. Planning and thought are good. But procrastination leads to missed opportunity.
6. The major company asset is you Take care of yourself. Your health is more valuable than the most expensive machinery or computer software for the company. You don't have to choose between your family or your company, play or work. Maintain your health for balance and energy, which will, in turn, enhance your mental outlook.
7. Keep your ego under control Don't take profits and spend them on expensive toys to impress others. Build a war chest for unexpected needs or opportunities. This also means hearing out new ideas and suggestions no matter how crazy they sound.

Get Your Life on Track

he first step is to take stock. Draw a circle and divide it into eight pie wedges. Label each wedge with an area of your life—money, career, physical environment (of your home and/or your office), personal growth, friends & family, significant other, health, fun/creativity.Now, think about the level of satisfaction you’re experiencing in each area. Are you at the center of the circle at “0” (no satisfaction) or the outer edge of the circle at “10” (total satisfaction) or somewhere in between? Draw a line in each wedge to indicate your response. If you’re a creative type, you can color in the area between the new line and the center of the circle. Here’s a sample completed Wheel of Life:
Once you’ve scored your level of satisfaction in each area, take a look at the new circle you created. Just imagine riding around on that wheel! A bit bumpy, isn’t it?
Well, relax. The goal isn’t to create a smooth wheel. Life is too short to reach for unattainable perfection. We’re looking for maximum impact in a short amount of time.

So what do you your marketing plans look like for the next year?

So what do you your marketing plans look like for the next year? If you’re like the majority of small- to medium-sized businesses, they include putting together a mobile marketing campaign and making your move onto those smaller (but increasingly profitable) screens. And if they don’t, well, maybe they should!

It’s worth noting that even the marketers currently putting off mobile know they have only have a short window where they’ll be able to ignore this trend. The world and the market are becoming increasingly mobile-reliant. If you want your customers to be able to find you, your business must go where they are. And they’re on the move.
There’s no getting around it.
For businesses already investing in the mobile revolution, 70 percent are doing so with mobile Web sites; 55 percent are building mobile applications; and surprisingly, nearly 50 percent have experimented with QR codes.

But, again, even these business owners know they can’t ignore mobile forever, with 64 percent saying they plan to spend more in mobile marketing this year. They’re motivated to get involved by the ability to provide better service to existing customers, attract more local customers, and gain a competitive advantage.

The Rules of Success

1. Set Goals that Motivate You

When you set goals for yourself, it is important that they motivate you: this means making sure that they are important to you, and that there is value in achieving them. If you have little interest in the outcome, or they are irrelevant given the larger picture, then the chances of you putting in the work to make them happen are slim. Motivation is key to achieving goals.
Set goals that relate to the high priorities in your life. Without this type of focus, you can end up with far too many goals, leaving you too little time to devote to each one. Goal achievement requires commitment, so to maximize the likelihood of success, you need to feel a sense of urgency and have an "I must do this" attitude. When you don't have this, you risk putting off what you need to do to make the goal a reality. This in turn leaves you feeling disappointed and frustrated with yourself, both of which are de-motivating. And you can end up in a very destructive "I can't do anything or be successful at anything" frame of mind.

2. Set SMART Goals

You have probably heard of "SMART goals" already. But do you always apply the rule? The simple fact is that for goals to be powerful, they should be designed to be SMART. There are many variations of what SMART stands for, but the essence is this – goals should be:
  • Specific.
  • Measurable.
  • Attainable.
  • Relevant.
  • Time Bound.
Set Specific Goals
You goal must be clear and well defined. Vague or generalized goals are unhelpful because they don't provide sufficient direction. Remember, you need goals to show you the way. Make it as easy as you can to get where you want to go by defining precisely where you want to end up.
Set Measurable Goals
Include precise amounts, dates, and so on in your goals so you can measure your degree of success. If your goal is simply defined as "To reduce expenses" how will you know when you have been successful? In one month's time if you have a 1 percent reduction or in two years' time when you have a 10 percent reduction? Without a way to measure your success you miss out on the celebration that comes with knowing you have actually achieved something.
Set Attainable Goals
Make sure that it's possible to achieve the goals you set. If you set a goal that you have no hope of achieving, you will only demoralize yourself and erode your confidence.
However, resist the urge to set goals that are too easy. Accomplishing a goal that you didn't have to work hard for can be anticlimactic at best, and can also make you fear setting future goals that carry a risk of non-achievement. By setting realistic yet challenging goals, you hit the balance you need. These are the types of goals that require you to "raise the bar" and they bring the greatest personal satisfaction.
Set Relevant Goals
Goals should be relevant to the direction you want your life and career to take. By keeping goals aligned with this, you'll develop the focus you need to get ahead and do what you want. Set widely scattered and inconsistent goals, and you'll fritter your time – and your life – away.
Set Time-Bound Goals
You goals must have a deadline. Again, this means that you know when you can celebrate success. When you are working on a deadline, your sense of urgency increases and achievement will come that much quicker.

3. Set Goals in Writing

The physical act of writing down a goal makes it real and tangible. You have no excuse for forgetting about it. As you write, use the word "will" instead of "would like to" or "might." For example, "I will reduce my operating expenses by 10 percent this year," not "I would like to reduce my operating expenses by 10 percent this year." The first goal statement has power and you can "see" yourself reducing expenses, the second lacks passion and gives you an excuse if you get sidetracked.

8. Believe
You need to believe in yourself, in your company, and that you will be successful. This confidence is contagious with your employees, customers, stakeholders, suppliers and everyone you deal with.
9. Encourage and accept criticism graciously. Admit your mistakes. You need to constantly work on convincing your employees that it's OK — even necessary —to state their honest opinions even it if conflicts with the boss's opinion. Just stating it once or putting it in a mission statement won't cut it for most people.
10. Maintain a strong work ethic Your employees will follow your lead. It will also help you beat your competition by outworking them, particularly when your product or service is very similar.

SEO anyone can understand

The main goal of SEO ( search engine optimization) is to make your presence known to search engines, to make your website more relevant and boost up in the rankings. We want the website to be the first link they see when a user is searching for products that you sell, or information that you provide. I’ve learned the main tools for this are content, code, links, and social media.

Google and other search engines scan the content in your website to see what is relevant and how valuable it is. This is all based on how much content you have, and what it relates to. The more text and descriptions about your website, the better.

Links are very important as well. If there are other more “authoritative” websites linking to your website, search engines see that and that makes your website more relevant. Links also drive traffic to your website, and are a great way to up your numbers in ranking on Google. Posting links to your website from your blog, social media status, or as comments on other websites is always a good idea.

Social Media  are really great tools for brand awareness. You can gain followers, people comment on your posts, and your posts can link to your website and it’s a necessity this day in age to drive traffic to your website.

Declutter Your Life

One of my favorite ways to tackle clutter is in a huge surge — set aside a weekend, for example, and take on as much as you can, one room at a time.
Clear your schedule for a day or two. Get some boxes and trash bags. Get excited.
Let’s say you start with your bedroom. Pick one area of the bedroom — one flat surface, such as a shelf, the top of your dresser, a drawer, the floor of your closet. Clear that flat surface, putting everything into a pile.
Then sort, making quick decisions. Take the top item from the pile — it doesn’t matter what it is, and no avoiding certain items. Just pick up the first item in the pile. Make a quick decision to place this item in one of three piles:
  1. Keep pile — for stuff you’ve used in the last 6 months and absolutely need and love.
  2. Donate pile — to donate to charity, give to family/friends, or recycle.
  3. Maybe pile — try not to use this pile if you can avoid it, but it’s for ones you absolutely can’t decide on. Put these things into a box, with today’s date, then put it into storage. If you don’t need anything in that box for six months, you can confidently get rid of it.
When you’re done sorting, put the things in the keep pile back, neatly. Where you place them is now their “home” — you should always put them in that spot. Put the donate pile into a box to donate to charity, perhaps setting some items aside to give to friends. Recycle the items that aren’t good enough to be reused.
Now go through the next flat surface — drawer, shelf, space on the floor, etc. Do it one are at a time until the entire room is done. This could take hours, but it can be a lot of fun. When the room is done, you should feel great. Celebrate. Move on to another room if you still have time and energy — otherwise, plan another surge session.

How to Succeed in Business

You would think that the all important question of how to go about succeeding in business would be answered in the pricey universities you attended. However, the real elements that help you succeed in business are to be learn't via experience, or by paying attention to the lives of veterans and actually listening to their personal tales apart from the amazing statistics of their successful companies.
1.       Knowing yourself
Often, youngsters are dazzled by the promise of making money and jump into entrepreneurship without taking a moment to ask themselves if they are cut out for the job. Take the time to introspect and determine if your attitude, emotional strength and mindset are conductive to being an entrepreneur – if you are a leader, are self reliant and can afford to pay for your mistakes without the security of a monthly pay cheque.
2.       Research
Never underestimate the power of knowledge. Besides gorging on books on the industry concerned, also interview those working in the sector to be aware of the practical challenges that you may face. It is important that you truly understand the nature of your sector. Analyze your target audience and see if you can find uncatered needs that you can address, and study market trends to ensure that the iron is still hot.
3.       Discipline
Business, whether run on a large scale or from home, calls for a lot of hard work. You need to be diligent at the desk and on the field, and keeping distractions at bay is vital. It is very easy for one to be pulled off the road by something that seems extremely important at a glance, but is without mettle when tested. Schedule your time and religiously stick to it.
4.       Know Your Numbers
Having an objective and imaginative mind that conceptualizes big is definitely a boon. But if the same mind is incapable of crunching numbers, it becomes a problem. If you simply can’t understand numbers, don’t despair, you can hire someone to make the numbers work for you. However, functional knowledge of accounts and economics is required to avoid being conned or mislead.
5.       Persistence
Success does not knock on your door the day you set up a business. Hurdles will continue to meet you on your path and sometimes they may seem insurmountable. The making of a good entrepreneur and a tale of successful business, both are created only when you are persistent in your efforts, refusing to bow down to circumstances or otherwise lose hope and accept defeat.
6.       Leadership
As the founder of a business, the first role you play is that of a leader. Being a smart entrepreneur is secondary when compared with the importance of being a leader, motivating your colleagues, believing in yourself and instilling faith in your co-workers. To be able to create a successful business that holds its own against competition and becomes your vehicle to self actualization, you need to evoke the leadership skills in you.

Dont ruin your Career

1. My self-worth is based on what others think of me.
Some people define themselves based upon how they guess their boss, co-workers, relatives and friends see them. When they are convinced that others think poorly of them, such people lack the self-confidence necessary to consistently take action.
2. My past equals my future.
When some people experience a series of setbacks, they assume that their goals are not achievable. Over time, they become dispirited and discouraged, and avoid situations where failure is a risk.  Because any significant effort entails risk, such people are then unable to make significant achievements.
3. My destiny is controlled by the supernatural.
Some people believe that their status in life–or even their potential as a human being–is determined by luck, fate, or divine intervention.  This all-too-common (and ultimately silly) belief robs such people of initiative, making them passive as they wait for their "luck" to change.
4. My emotions accurately reflect objective reality.
Some people believe that their emotions are caused by external events. In truth, though emotions are determined by the perception of those events, combined with preconceptions about what those events mean. Such people find it difficult or impossible to "get out of their own heads" and see situations from another person's viewpoint.
5. My goal is to be perfect or do something perfectly.
Because perfection is unattainable, the people who seek it are simply setting themselves up for disappointment. Perfectionists blame the world (and everything in it) rather than doing what's necessary to accomplish extraordinary results.  That's why "successful perfectionist" is an oxymoron.

I'll just do it myself

We have all experienced it in our small business, time is tight and a crucial task must get done. You have explained it (you thought) to an employee but the task is not getting done. Or worse, it is not done the way that you want it done. In order to cope with the frustration, you decide that it is just easier to do it yourself. Then, you wonder why you are working 16 hour days, staying longer than any employee.
I am sure that most of you have been in this situation on many occasions. The problem is that if you can’t find a way out of it, not only will you continue to work those long hours, but it will be very hard to grow your business. You just can’t do everything yourself! What to do? Here are three ideas that may help: concentrate on your strengths and delegate your weaknesses, document well any process that you will delegate, outsource any business process that is not in your businesses’ core competencies.
Concentrate on your strengths and delegate your weaknesses. We are all better at some things than others. Some of us are detailed oriented and well organized, while others work well with the overall themes and direction of a company. The former will probably be better at operations and the latter at setting strategy and guiding marketing campaigns. One of the keys here is to completely honest with about what you do and don’t do well. It is hard to assess yourself by yourself, so don’t be afraid to call on a trusted advisor to help.
A useful exercise when you are trying to determine your role in your company is to create a diagram of the “buckets” or areas of work that you do. You might be surprised by what you find! Once all of your buckets are defined and the activities they include are outlined, you can review more objectively what you are good at and what might be delegate. Doing this exercise with a trusted advisor will add to the depth of understanding that you may gain.
Document any process that you will delegate. Since you have created most of the processes in your company, you know it really well. However, our tendency is to assume that when we explain a process to another, they will catch the nuances without a great deal of detail. I once helped a business owner that thought that a 15 minute explanation of a process that had been honed over several years was all that was necessary. Proper documentation, including the steps of the process, perhaps a diagram of the process flow and a list of the meaning of the terms used form the basics.
There are many useful tools to use when documenting process. Personally, I like to use the different tools that originated in lean concepts are helpful.
Outsource any process that is not among your company’s core competencies. In a small company that is starting to grow, there are many processes that are not among the core competencies. As the company grows, it becomes harder to perform some of these processes with internal staff that are not specialized. Payroll, human resources and benefits come to mind for many companies.
Using these three ideas can help you delegate work more effectively and find more time for yourself.

Local is HOT

Local search is hot.  Apparently 2012 is The Year of Local according to National Advertisers

Google says 97% of consumers search for local businesses online. Wow! But what about the other 3%? Do they ever leave their houses?

Google just revamped their whole local search business to embed it in Google+, so something must be going on around here and maybe they are after that other 3%.

If you ask me, I’ll whisper that local is pretty hot right now mostly because global is passé and people want their technology to be more relevant for their everyday local lives. This represents a huge opportunity for local business. I have a tendency to believe Google’s stats too because I always search for products online first before checking anywhere else. I never go to the yellow pages and hardly ever pay attention to the junk mail which I use to line the bottom of my parrot’s cage.

The Transparent Desktop

You just take a shot of what’s behind your screen and make it your desktop background. And yes, I’ve tried it, and yes, it’s more difficult than it looks to get it just right, especially if you don’t have a laptop. It’s all about the fold-down screen.

Starting a small business

It does not matter if your business venture is big or small – the amount of hard work that goes into establishing a note-worthy business is the same. The preliminary round to starting a business is to ask yourself why you wish to do it. If the answer is solely to earn “big cash” or because that is what is expected of you, you may want to sit back and rethink your strategy. Nothing but passion for your work, directly or indirectly associated with your business, can help you get through the vortex of work a start-up calls for.
Survey your local market to identify lacking or lagging elements, needs to be met. This will furnish you with ideas, and provide direction to further efforts. Locate resources that are to be brought together to realize your idea of a business. Many infantile businesses have collapsed for lack of funds. Therefore, a ballpark figure of the start-up fund required must be gauged from research of the industry of your choice and the requirements of your target audience. Do not plan only till the launching of your business. Since an initial lukewarm response to your products or services is a rational possibility, space out funds to tide you through the first two months of business as well.
Chart out a plan of action. This is the most important part of your project. You are aware of the funds at hand, the output to be generated and the time frame by which this must be accomplished. Drafting a plan of action with all the diverse elements involved will also help raise funds for the project, as well as serve as a referral to gauge progress.
Location hunting is the next major hurdle to tackle. Properties in prime area of urban areas cost a fortune, and are extremely hard to find. Scour your locality or the region where your target audience resides and try to observe movement to ascertain the foot-fall on the streets. Setting up shop in a visible location accounts for a considerable part of the rate of success. Being tucked away in the backstreets spells doom for a new business.
Second only to the importance of a prime location is the name and logo of a business. The creativity and the relevance of a name to the industry it is a part of, and the products / services extended by it speak of quality. A well named business that is easily registered in the minds of consumers is more successful than a badly or complexly named one. Arguably more important than the name of a company is the logo. Pictures draw attention faster than words, and an attractive logo that catches the interest of a passerby will encourage him to pay attention to the business too.
Now that location, name, logo and subject are at hand, it is time to acquire all the necessary permits and licenses to provide your venture with a legal status. Apply to the right departments and address the legal components of a business
